Your FALR Newsletter arrives! Inside you will find a summary of monies generated along with the expenditures of the 2003 Repo Expo/Florida Convention. The vendors were very generous with their support. Much of the money generated was distributed to the attendees by way of prizes, food and entertainment. The attendees benefited from an educational experience, a lively vendor atmosphere, and plenty of fellowship. The agency owners meeting was a very important event. The agencies that were represented obviously care about the future of this industry. Continuing education rose to the top of everyone’s obvious concept of what is important to the recovery industry. Nearly 70 people pooled their money and became members of FALR. The member’s meeting was attended by nearly all of these members. Officers were elected and a strict budget of generated funds was voted into place. The budget was approved by percentages. 60% to
Lobbyist.

The money budgeted for the lobbyist has already been sent to Tallahassee. This marks the first time that FLACARS has had financial assistance from another Florida Association in the fight for the rights of recovery agents on the legislative front. If this doesn’t excite you, perhaps when the results of these efforts are released you will join in our pride. Funds set aside for growth and officer’s discretional use are currently still on hand. FALR currently has no recurring expenses. We encourage all Recovery Agencies to support the efforts of FALR….. YOUR ASSOCIATION!
Honorary Mention
After many years of service as the Director of the Division of Licensing… John Russi is set to retire at the end of this year. Mr. Russi served this industry with great honor and dignity. His ears were always open to our industry’s needs. Words alone could not possibly express the thanks and respect our industry has for Mr. Russi.
